Developing a strong Banking & Finance profile does not necessarily mean choosing between transactional work and regulatory matters. This opportunity offers exposure to both sides of the practice within an established international law firm in Luxembourg.

The local office brings together around 60 lawyers across several business law practices and advises an international client base on sophisticated Luxembourg and cross-border matters. Within Banking & Finance, the team is structured around experienced Partners and Counsels, including a dedicated Regulatory specialist, giving lawyers access to a broad range of technical expertise while remaining closely involved in their matters.

You will therefore work on financing transactions as well as banking and financial regulatory questions, allowing you to develop a more complete understanding of the sector. Direct interaction with senior lawyers, international clients and other departments of the firm will progressively strengthen both your technical expertise and your autonomy.

The firm is currently looking for a Banking & Finance Lawyer with approximately two to four years of experience, who wishes to continue developing within an international environment offering demanding work, structured training and long-term career perspectives.

Your Responsibilities |Banking & Finance – Transactions – Regulatory

• Advise financial institutions, investment firms, corporate groups and international investors on banking and financing matters.
• Participate in the structuring and execution of domestic and cross-border financing transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, guarantees, legal opinions and other financing documentation.
• Work on banking and financial regulatory matters alongside lawyers with dedicated expertise in this field.
• Analyse Luxembourg and European regulatory developments and their practical impact on clients.
• Assist clients with questions arising from their regulated activities and financing operations.
• Coordinate with other practice groups, including Corporate, Investment Funds and Tax, when transactions require multidisciplinary advice.
• Maintain regular contact with clients and progressively take greater ownership of your files.
• Contribute to legal research, internal know-how and client-facing publications on relevant banking and regulatory developments.
  
  

Profile and Career Path | Banking & Finance – Transactions – Regulatory

• You have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in Banking & Finance, financing transactions or financial regulatory matters.
• Your background may come from a law firm, bank, financial institution or relevant in-house legal function, provided you have developed solid exposure to banking or financing matters in Luxembourg.
• You are interested in building a practice combining transactional and regulatory work rather than specializing exclusively in one area.
• You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• You demonstrate strong drafting and analytical skills and pay close attention to technical detail.
• You are comfortable handling increasing levels of responsibility while continuing to learn from experienced lawyers.
• You are looking for a long-term environment where training, technical progression and exposure to international matters are genuinely part of your development.

• A gross annual salary of up to €130,000, depending on your experience, technical skills and level of autonomy.
