Our client is an international law firm with an established presence in Luxembourg, combining the resources of a broader international platform with the accessibility of compact local teams.

As part of its continued development, the firm is now looking to strengthen and further build its Employment Law practice in Luxembourg. This is therefore not a traditional replacement here: the successful lawyer will have the opportunity to play a central role in shaping the service, developing its visibility on the market and progressively structuring the practice over the long term.

The position is aimed at a Senior Associate or Counsel with at least five to six years of experience, who is fully autonomous from a technical perspective and motivated by a genuine development challenge. An existing client portfolio would naturally be an advantage, but it is not a prerequisite. The firm is primarily looking for someone with the ambition, credibility and commercial mindset to grow the activity and progressively become a key figure within the Employment practice.

Over time, the role may also evolve toward the development and supervision of a dedicated team, offering a clear long-term perspective for someone wishing to combine legal expertise, business development and people management.

Your Responsibilities | Employment Law – Practice Development – Client Advisory - Legal

• Advise local and international employers on a broad range of Luxembourg employment law matters.
• Manage complex advisory and contentious or pre-contentious matters with a high degree of autonomy.
• Handle sensitive matters relating to dismissals, reorganizations, restructurings, employment agreements, internal policies and employee relations.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for clients and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.
• Contribute actively to the development of the Employment Law offering in Luxembourg.
• Identify new business opportunities and participate in pitches, networking initiatives, publications and market-facing activities.
• Strengthen existing client relationships and progressively develop new ones.
• Work directly with the Partners on the strategic positioning and growth of the practice.
• Contribute to the structuring of internal processes and the future organization of the Employment practice.
• In the longer term, participate in the recruitment, supervision and development of a dedicated Employment Law team.
  
  

Profile and Career Path | Employment Law – Practice Development – Client Advisory - Legal

• You have at least five to six years of experience in Employment Law, ideally acquired within a recognized law firm in Luxembourg.

• You are technically autonomous and comfortable managing sophisticated employment matters independently.
• You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• You have a genuine interest in business development and practice building.
• You do not necessarily need to bring an existing client portfolio, but you should be comfortable developing relationships and creating new opportunities.
• You are proactive, entrepreneurial and motivated by the idea of building something rather than joining a fully established team.
• You possess strong communication skills and are comfortable representing practice externally.
• You are able to combine legal expertise with a pragmatic and commercially aware approach.
• Depending on your experience and current positioning, the opportunity may be considered at Senior Associate or Counsel level.

• A gross annual salary of up to €160,000 on an employee basis, depending on your experience, technical autonomy and contribution to the development of the practice.
